二、Research Characteristics

The Institute of Higher education which is characterized by institutional research established the unified management of institutional research with the college's decision making support system. The institute integrates the original decentralized operation of various institutions' research functions, and forms a closed loop operation system with internal coordination and external coordination, with data-driven as the core, from theoretical research of institutions' research to strategic planning, policy research, and quality evaluation. It has made great efforts to promote brand project construction and has made great progress in theoretical research and applied research. At the same time, it is committed to promoting the wide application and development of institutional research in China, establishing a network of research cooperation among relevant institutions, promoting the convening of various seminars on institutional research, and publishing various results of institutional research, which have achieved a wide range of influence.

三、Research Projects and Achievements

The Institute has undertaken a series of projects such as the National Social Science Fund Projects, the National Education Scientific Research Projects, the Humanities and Social Science Fund Projects of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Social Science Planning Fund Projects, Shanghai education and scientific research projects and a lot of projects from the Ministry of Education and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. The per capita research funds of teachers ranked top among the liberal arts institutions of Tongji University for many years.

The teaching and research projects hosted or participated by our faculties have achieved excellent results. They have successively won the National Teaching Achievement Award, Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award, Tongji University Teaching Achievement Award, the National Award for Outstanding Achievements in Education Science Research, Shanghai Award for Achievements in Educational Scientific Research, Shanghai Higher Education Association Achievement Award, etc.
