          Gaoming ZHENG is currently an assistant professor at Institute of Higher Education Research, Tongji University, China, as well as a researcher at Research Center for Educational Modernization (Tongji University). She is also a doctoral graduate and currently affiliated researcher of Higher Education Group (HEG), at Faculty of Management and Business, Tampere University, Finland.

           Gaoming is a researcher standing on the bridge of Europe-China higher education cooperation, who benefits from the cooperation and devotes to promote the cooperation. Her master study was undertaken in the Master of Research and Innovation in Higher Education (MARIHE) Program, an Erasmus Mundus Master Joint Degree Program, funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Danube University Krems (Austria), Tampere University (Finland), Beijing Normal University (China) and Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences (Germany). She has work experiences in several higher education institutions in China and in Europe, including School of Foreign Studies in Southeast University (China, as administrator), Higher Education Group (HEG) in Tampere University (Finland, as researcher and university instructor), Centre for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS) in Twente University (the Netherlands, as intern researcher). She has also been involved in several international joint projects between European countries and China, including the EU-China Doc Project, LEAD Project, LEAD 2 Project, and Capacity Development Project for Sino-Finnish Education Cooperation Professionals.

          Her research interest covers doctoral education, internationalization of higher education, Europe-China higher education cooperation, quality assurance, academic profession and institutional logics. Currently her main research focus is on the forms, forces and quality of international joint doctoral education provision, especially in the Europe-China context.
